SBCC names Brian “Chuckie” Roth as Women’s Swim Coach

Dear aquatics community,

Recently I was named the Santa Barbara City College Women’s Swimming Coach. On Thursday May 16th from 7-8 PM there will be an official press conference at SBCC regarding the beginning  of women’s aquatics at SBCC. The city college is highly considering adding Girls Water Polo however they need to see a community interest in a girl’s water polo. I am hoping that we can have a large showing of athletes, parents, and community members at the press conference to help support the addition of a girls water polo team also. I have coached many athletes who would have benefited from a SBCC team. For years local players had to either play at the 4 year level or they were forced with the idea of commuting to Ventura. I look forward to seeing everyone there so that we can improve opportunities for future water polo players.

The organizational meeting will be held for SBCC women’s swimming on Thursday, May 16 from 7-8 p.m. in the Sports Pavilion. It’s a chance for student-athletes and their families to learn about the swim program and also gauge the interest for women’s water polo.

Congrats! This is long awaited news! We’ll be there to support SBCC Aquatics with hopes that one day the SBCC Foundation will help fund a pool at SBCC! Denice
